Everything You Need to Know About Newborn Photography Sessions

Planning a newborn photography session can be overwhelming, especially if it's your first time. In this post, we've compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions about newborn photography sessions to help you better understand the process and what to expect. From timing to safety to final images, we've got you covered.

1 - When is the best time to schedule a newborn photography session?

The best time to schedule a newborn photography session is within the first 2 weeks of life while your baby is still very sleepy and flexible. This is when they are most easily posed and can comfortably stay in the same position for longer periods of time. If you cannot schedule a session within the first 2 weeks, don't worry! We can still get beautiful images at any age, but the posing options may be more limited.

2 - How long does a newborn photography session take?

Newborn photography sessions usually take 2-4 hours, depending on your baby's needs. We work at your baby's pace, allowing time for feeding, changing, and comforting as needed. It's important to remember that newborns are the boss during these sessions, and we will take all the time necessary to ensure they are comfortable and content.

We only take one newborn session a day, so there is no need to get stressed about time. We value these moments and want to get the best photos of your baby.

3 - Can siblings and/or pets be included in the session?

Absolutely! We love including siblings and pets in newborn photography sessions. It's a great way to capture the bond between siblings and the love a new baby brings to the family. Just let us know in advance if you would like to include siblings or pets in the session, and we will make sure to allow extra time for these images.

4 - How do you ensure the newborn's safety during the session?

Safety is our top priority during newborn photography sessions. We have been trained in newborn posing and handling and follow all safety guidelines recommended by professional organizations. All props and poses are carefully chosen and set up to ensure your baby's safety at all times.

I'm one of the 12 BABY SAFETY AMBASSADORS WORLDWIDE. I trained over 800 photographers in newborn photography and safety, so you can trust me.

5 - Can I bring my own props or outfits for the session?

Yes! We encourage our clients to bring any special props or outfits they would like to include in the session. This could include family heirlooms, special blankets or outfits, or anything else that has special meaning to you. Please let us know in advance if you have any specific items you would like to use, and we will ensure to allow extra time to incorporate them into the session.

In addition to this, I have EVERYTHING for your newborn baby:) You don't need to buy or bring anything. I have a wide range of pros, clothes, baskets ...etc.

6 - How many images will be included in the final gallery?

The number of images included in the final gallery will depend on the specific package you have chosen and the length of the session. Typically, our packages include a selection of the best images from the session, carefully edited and retouched to ensure they are of the highest quality. The number of edited images can range from 5-30 for sessions. If you have specific needs or requests for the number of images you would like included in the final gallery, just let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

You can also get the entire gallery, which usually ranges from 70 to 200, depending on your chosen session package.

7 - How long does it take to receive the final images?

After your newborn photography session, we will carefully select and edit all the images from the session. The final gallery of images will be delivered to you within 2 weeks of the session. If you have chosen a package that includes prints or other physical products, those will be delivered separately within 4-6 weeks of your order.

8 - Do you offer digital files or prints?

We offer a range of options for receiving your final images, including digital files and prints. You can receive just digital files, prints, or a combination of both. We offer a variety of print sizes and styles, including traditional prints, canvas wraps, and keepsake boxes.

9 - Can I order additional prints or products after the session?

Yes, you can order additional prints or products anytime after the session. We offer a range of print sizes and styles, as well as a variety of other products, such as memory boxes and photo frames. Just let us know what you are interested in, and we will be happy to help you place an order.

10 - Do you offer a guarantee on your products?

Yes, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all our products. If you are not completely satisfied with your prints or other products, just let us know, and we will work with you to make it right.
